If you have never tried snorkelling before we offer a discover snorkeling experience in Nelson Bay, Port Stephens, Australia which will help you take your first step in snorkelling with confidence and helpful tips and suggestions of our qualified Instructors and Divemasters.
For those wishing to master thier snorkeling skills we also offer the full PADI skin diver course. While snorkeling is limited to peering down from the surface, skin divers generally venture further than snorkelers, making frequent surface dives to interact with aquatic life, up close and personal. This program leads to the issue of the PADI Skin diver certification.
If you are already a confident snorkeler you may hire snorkelling equipment (fins, suit, mask & snorkel) and take yourself exploring at some of the wonderful shore based sites such as the Fly Point Marine Reserve, or you may wish to join us on a snorkelling boat or even challenge yourself further with a Freediving course.
Do I have to be able to swim?
If you are not confident swimmers please speak to us about or shore based programs and hire of our specialised snorkeling vests for buoyancy. To join our boat snorkeling tours you should be comfortable swimming up to 200m without touching the bottom as this is commonly how far away from the boat we explore. The priority is to safely have fun, so please be honest about your swimming ability.
What do I need to bring?
Please ensure you pack your swimming suit, towel, sunscreen, and lots of energy!!! If you have any snorkeling equipment of your own you are also welcome to bring and use it. We have quality equipment in hire and you are also welcome to purchase your own personal equipment in our store so we can guide you on the best gear to suit your purpose.
How old do I need to be?
There is no specific minumum age, though we do ask that parents accompany children under 8 years old, and that children should be comfortable with being in the water, and be able to meet our swimming requirement above if joining a boat trip.
