What You Learn
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be:
The Fun Part
The fun part about this course is...well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. During the course, you'll initially learn and practice all of the requisite skills in a pool environment before heading off to the ocean to complete at least four dives at our local dive sites. All of this whilst under the direct supervision of your PADI Instructor.
The Scuba Gear You Use
Your course fee will include all of the equipment that you will need to scuba dive safely and comfortably as well as meeting training standards. If you wish to purchase any equipment, such as your own mask and snorkel for example, then LET'S GO ADVENTURES will provide a generous discount on equipment purchases whilst you are enrolled on a course.
The Learning Materials You Need
Another great aspect of this course is that you hardly spend any time at all in the classroom. Instead you learn all of the information using PADI's online e-learning software. So you can study anywhere and any time that is convenient to you using a desktop computer or mobile device or both as you can login and out of the lessons as many times as you like.
PADI's Open Water Diver e-Learning materials cover everything you need to know about basic scuba diving skills, equipment, safety procedures and how your body adapts to the underwater environment. For each concept you'll read a description and watch a short video illustration. Your knowledge and understanding of each topic will be reviewed with short quizzes as you progress through the materials.
When you arrive at the store on the first day of the course, your instructor will give you a another short quiz to make sure that you have retained the key concepts. With the quiz complete, then it's off to the pool to start putting all of that newly aquired knowledge to practical use because we really learn how to scuba dive in the water not in the classroom.
