It is Spring and you can feel the excitement in the water. Weather has been great and the vis has been amazing. Yesterday the boat went out to North rock where our divers were treated to an absolutely amazing experience. Our four divers and Divemaster Jayson reported 15 to 20 Grey Nurse Sharks, with some possibly expecting. The divers also reported sighting 40 or more Port Jackson sharks congregated in two large gatherings at the site. The marine life really is getting more active with this change of weather and temperature.
If these reports excite the senses and urge you to pack the dive gear in search of these amazing experiences, then you should make sure you come to club day as we will be having Cindy from Spirit of Freedom come to tell us all about the amazing trips they run.
We had such beautiful winter with very clear water and a nice bunch of divers joining us on our boat and shore dives, also a few new divers joining the tribe. Thank you all for the support on our low season. Now things will start to get hot and busy. There are still places available on the Sundays Double Boat Dive to Broughton.
Don’t forget, this Saturday is Let’s Go Adventures Club day. Seize the opportunity to come along for a single dive and BBQ with our staff. The BBQ will begin at 12pm, with the boat departing for Fingal ($35.00) at 2pm Sharp. This is a great opportunity to meet and dive with new and old members as well as sharing in a few stories of your recent experiences.
Also, our 4 day 4 night Spirit of Freedom Coral Sea experience is quickly approaching. Imagine entering the water after a fully catered hot breakfast on a liveaboard with your fellow dive buddy, all your diving gear ready to go. You plunge into 30meter clear water with an average temperature of between 28 and 30 degrees. You slowly descend to be engulfed in a sea of Colourful marine life, Giant Queensland Gropers the size of small cars swim overhead, and you weave in and out of passages cut by ancient and beautiful coral beds as far as the eye can see. As a final Note, we would like to welcome our latest addition to the lets go team. You will see Jayson Divemastering for the boat and also working in the shop. He comes from Newcastle originally, completed his Divecon with Em, but has spent the last three years diving the pristine waters of the outer Whitsundays coral reefs and the more temperate kelp gardens of South Australia where he regularly took tours out on the search for Leafy Seadragons.
