Palau 2013 – Eat, Sleep, Dive in Luxury!

The perfect recipe for a great holiday is to Eat, Sleep, Dive. And with only a few steps between each, liveaboard diving is perhaps the best way to totally unwind and get away. I have been on liveaboards before but none that even compare to the luxury we found on the Palau Siren. The rooms were very generously sized with a great ensuite, bathrobe and hairdryers I suspected that we were going to have a special couple of weeks. When Adam confirmed that there was indeed beer on tap (self serve), we both knew we were in for a great holiday. But when we finally hit the 30 degree water after our long journey was when we both got excited for the diving that was in store for us.
Palau is well known for its ripping currents and great life of pelagics. Many were pretty excited to get to use reef hooks for the first time, and even though the current was not great (as we were there on the small moon) we still enjoyed lots of fish life at the Blue corner. Perhaps our favourite dives was the gentle drift along Ulong channel with the stunning crystal clear water of Pelalu corner coming a close second. Our final dive at Chandelier caves was a perfect end to some great diving adventures.
I must admit that Adam and I both found our wetsuits was getting tighter by the end of our journey – the food was absolutely fantastic. As I recently found out I was gluten intolerant I was not sure how I would go, but I ate like a queen with Chef Andre preparing me high class restaurant quality food.
We are looking forward to our next liveaboard trip onboard the Maldives Aggressor in September 2014. For anyone who would like to treat themselves to great diving, food, and be spoilt on a live aboard look here (link) for further details.
