HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid unit of competency is derived from the HLT Health Training Package and is accepted by WorkCover as an industry standard first aid qualification.
Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines state: “All those trained in CPR should refresh their CPR skills at least annually”. Safe Work Australia states: “Refresher training in CPR should be undertaken annually and first aid qualifications should be renewed every three years.”
The outcome of this training program is a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid.

o basic wound care
o burns
o convulsions
o envenomation (using pressure immobilisation)
o fractures, sprains and strains (using arm slings, roller bandages or other appropriate immobilisation techniques)
o poisoning
o respiratory distress
First Aid Procedures – Part Three
o epilepsy
o eye injuries
o head and spinal injuries
o thermal injuries
